Today was a beautiful day in Charlotte Harbor.  Not a cloud in the sky.  We decided to put the top down and go for a ride.  We drove into Fort Myers and found this wonderful Chicago Style Pizza place called Lenny C’s located at 13101 N. Cleveland Ave.  North Fort Myers, FL

Being from the windy city, I had to try the pizza.  It truly is the best I have had since being down in FL.

My husband had the Chef Salad and 10 Teriaki Chicken Wings.  The wings were the BEST we have eaten.

Lenny C’s is a must visit and is worth the drive from the Charlotte Harbor area.

Lenny C’s website is on the right.  Just click and see what they have to offer!

CHARLOTTE HARBOR POINT OF INTEREST

STATUE OF PONCE DE LEON IN GILCHRIST PARK

SEAL OF PONCE DE LEON IN GILCHRIST PARK

The statue of Ponce de Leon as well as the seal was donated to the park in 2005.

Juan Ponce de Leon was born in 1460 in Tierra de Campos Palencia, Spain and died in 1521 from being wounded in an Indian attack.

He was encouraged by the crown to search for new lands in hopes of finding gold.and expanding the Spanish empire.  He heard of a Caribbean island called Bimini where it was rumored the waters would rejuvenate a person if they drank it.

Because of his interest in finding the Fountain of Youth, in 1513, he led a private expedition to Bimini from Puerto Rico.  He landed on the mainland of North America.  He did not realize that’s where he was.  The area was  lush and beautiful.  It was also Easter time.  He named the island Florida. (Spanish:  Pascua Florida).

Living in Charlotte Harbor is like a Fountain of Youth!  Beautiful weather, relaxation and beautiful sunsets – what could be better?

RAINBOW IN CHARLOTTE HARBOR

Double Rainbow

It rained a bit this afternoon.  I opened the door and this is what I saw.  The colors were so beautiful.  Very seldom do I see a double rainbow.  Living in Charlotte Harbor always puts a smile on everyone’s face!

I will list some of the activities that will be going on this weekend towards the end of the week.  There is a little something for everyone!

Also, you can check out the links I have to the right.  It will tell you exactly what Charlotte Harbor has to offer!

ANOTHER QUIET DAY IN CHARLOTTE HARBOR

Please remember to help the victims on the East Coast.  So many of us here in FL. have friends and family trying to put their lives together.

Right now, we are experiencing beautiful, calm weather.  So many of us remember living in the cold and everything we did to keep warm.  So many of the victims don’t even have a winter coat!

Please donate what clothes you can.  All of us have something that we haven’t worn in a year or a pair of shoes we are not wearing.

Everything will help.

A REMINDER FROM CHARLOTTE HARBOR

it’s another beautiful day in Charlotte Harbor.   We are very fortunate to have the sun shining and the temps in the 70″s.

You will see donation boxes set up for the victims of Sandy.    They need clothing of all kinds.  Doesn’t matter if it’s women, men or children. It’s a good time to clean out your closet and help those who are victims of this devastating storm.  There are boxes set up at various locations. Please help those that lost everything

Don’t forget to turn back the clocks tonight. We get to sleep an extra hour!

THE THAI CAFE IN CHARLOTTE HARBOR

Tonight my husband and I decided to have dinner at the The Thai Cafe, located at 4200 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte, FL, located in a strip mall.  Either one of us had ever had Thai food before and thought we would give it a try.

Not only was the atmosphere peaceful and comfortable, the food was so delicious.  We started with Won Ton Soup.  It had the best flavor of any soup I have had.  We even brought a quart home!

We then had the Combo Fried Rice – it was filled with shrimp, chicken, beef and pork.  It had incredible flavor and we finished every bite!

We thought the food would be spicy, however, it was not.  Just smooth, tasty and easy on the palate.   This is definitely a place we will visit again!

Truly, dining at it’s best!
